Import Images

Users can import their own images into Illustrate, and use them to create custom dynamic infographics. This provides users with the flexibility to import whatever images are required, whether that be a company logo, icon, or even a gif.

Importing Images

Before you begin

Identify the type of image you want to import. It is important to note that which dynamic properties are available depends on the image type that is being used:

  • When working with raster image formats (like PNG and BMP), only three dynamic image properties will be enabled in the Properties panel: show/ hide, size, and rotation.
  • When working with vector image formats (SVG), all dynamic image properties will be enabled.

Supported Image Formats

The following image formats may be imported:

Raster Images
  • PNG
  • JPEG
  • BMP
  • GIF
Vector Images
  • SVG
  • SVG_XML

Import your Image

Images can be imported into Illustrate in two ways:

  • Method 1: From the Illustration ribbon, click Import Images. Browse to the folder and select the required image.
  • Method 2: Find the image in its folder location, and drag and drop it onto the Illustrate canvas.

Configuring Dynamic Graphic Properties

Once the image has been imported into Illustrate and selected on the canvas, the dynamic properties will be enabled in the Properties panel. Configure the required dynamic properties as usual.
